Said service with sermon.
We celebrate the arrival of the three wise men, who, led by the Star of Bethlehem, travel from the East to visit the Christ-child. They bring strange and mystical gifts, gold, signifying the kingship of Christ, frankincense, used from ancient times in the worship of God, signifying Jesus’ Godhood, and myrrh, used for the embalming of bodies, foretelling the death that the Lord would suffer for the whole of creation.
