SUMMARY:Stations of the Cross
DESCRIPTION:Stations of the Cross\nThis is a simple service lasting about 40 minutes or so\, during which we move around the church stopping at each of fourteen stations\, each of which commemorates a moment on the road travelled by Jesus from his trial to his laying in the tomb.   In the last hours of his earthly life\, Jesus carried his cross from where he was tried along the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem to Calvary\, also known as Golgotha (the place of a skull)\, outside the walls of the first century city.  From there\, his body was cut down and laid in a nearby tomb\, given for him by Joseph of Arimathea. \nThis is a wonderful way to walk in the footsteps of the Lord\, praying and meditating on his sacrifice for us and for the whole of creation.
