The Presentation of the Lord in the Temple

We celebrate the moment when Jesus Christ, at just forty days old, was presented to God in the Temple as every male child was. On arrival at the Temple, the Holy Family encounters Simeon, who utters the beautiful prayer which prophesies the redemption of the world by Jesus, the Nunc Dimittis.
